Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi will be awarded an important honor after the Champions Trophy.
Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi will take over the presidency of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in Dubai after the ICC Champions Trophy final this month.
At present, the chairmanship of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is temporarily held by Sri Lanka Cricket Board President Shami Silva, but the presidency will be handed over to Mohsin Naqvi after the General Council meeting.
The meeting will also decide the venues of this year’s Asia Cup in India, for which a proposal will be made to hold Pakistan’s matches in Dubai or Sri Lanka.
Earlier, news had surfaced yesterday that due to the non-participation of the Indian team in last year’s Asia Cup and ICC Champions Trophy hosted by Pakistan, the event will be held on a hybrid model, but the hosting will be entrusted to India.
This important decision by the ACC has been taken to avoid the ongoing dispute between Pakistan and India ahead of the Champions Trophy.
