The United States accidentally shot down its own fighter jet in the Red Sea. US authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
According to a foreign news agency, the US Central Command has said that both pilots of the mistakenly shot down US aircraft have survived, but one has minor injuries.
US military officials say that the FA-18 Hornet aircraft was passing near the US ship in the Red Sea, when the Gettysburg cruise missile accidentally fired a missile at the plane.
It should be noted that the Red Sea has become a military hub for the past year and US forces are targeting Houthi positions to prevent attacks on ships by Yemen’s Houthi rebels.
