Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned the terrorist incident in Bannu Cantt and paid tribute to the martyred soldiers.
The President said that our soldiers saved the nation from a great loss by taking timely action, the entire nation is proud of the sacrifice of its brave soldiers.
Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to the security forces for foiling the terrorist attack in Bannu Cantt and said that the terrorist elements will be eradicated from the roots.
The President of the State prayed for high status for the martyrs and patience for the families.
It should be noted that 8 soldiers of Pakistan Army were martyred in the suicide attack on Bannu Cantonment, while 10 terrorists were killed in the retaliatory action.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army, on the morning of July 15, a group of 10 terrorists attacked the Bannu cantonment and tried to enter the cantonment, which was foiled by the security forces.
During the attack, terrorists rammed a vehicle full of explosives against the wall of the cantonment. As a result of this suicide blast, a part of the wall collapsed and the adjacent infrastructure was damaged.
