Mumbai: Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s new horror-comedy film ‘Isthri 2’ has entered the top 10 biggest films of all time in India.
According to Indian media, the film earned Rs 291.65 crore in its first week. 17.5 crore on the second Friday, 33 crore on Saturday, and 42.4 crore on Sunday. On Monday, the film’s earnings fell to Rs 18.5 crore, and on Tuesday, despite a partial holiday on the occasion of Janmashtami, the film earned Rs 11.5 crore.
As per the early estimates, the film’s total gross is Rs 414.55 crore, with ‘Isthri 2’ breaking the lifetime record of Rajinikanth’s 2.0 of Rs 407.05 crore and making it to the list of top 10 highest grossing films in India. I have made my place at number 10.
‘Istari 2’ has broken the records of films like 2.0, Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire, Avatar: A Way of Water, Dangal and Avengers: Endgame.
In this list, ‘Baahubali’ is at the 9th position with Rs 421 crore and ‘Ghadar 2’ is at the 8th position with Rs 525.7 crore.
With no big films in the coming weeks, ‘Istra 2’ is highly likely to enter the Rs 500 crore club.
The film also stars Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Pankaj Tripathi while Varun Dhawan, Akshay Kumar and Tamannaah Bhatia make guest appearances.
