Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called a cabinet meeting in view of the recent wave of terrorism in the country.
According to the announcement issued by the Prime Minister House, the meeting of the federal cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will be held today at 10 am. In the meeting, a detailed briefing on the country’s security situation will be given and the report of recent terrorist attacks will be presented to the cabinet.
According to sources, the cabinet meeting will approve important agenda items, including approval of transfer of PWD staff and PSDP projects.
In the meeting, the agenda item related to Convention Recovery of Maintenance Abroad will be considered, while the phase one of the recommendations of the government’s Right Sizing Committee will also be approved by the Cabinet.
Issues related to austerity and cost reduction will also be reviewed. The meeting also included ratification of the decisions of the Cabinet Committee on Legislation meeting on August 23 and the decisions of the Economic Coordination Committee meeting on August 22.
Sources further said that the issue of the amount owed to PTA by LDI will also be taken into consideration in the federal cabinet, on which PTA and the Ministry of IT and Telecom will give a detailed briefing.
