The Punjab government also imposed Section 144 in Lahore for 6 days, the provincial home department issued a notification in this regard.
According to the notification, all kinds of political gatherings, sit-ins, rallies, demonstrations, protests and all such activities will be banned under Section 144. The ban will be applicable from Thursday, October 3 to Tuesday, October 8.
According to the notification, Section 144 has been implemented to maintain law and order, protect human lives and property, any public gathering can be a soft target for terrorists in view of security threats.
The Provincial Home Department says that the decision to implement Section 144 has been taken on the recommendation of the district administration, and for public awareness, the implementation of Section 144 has been directed to be publicized on a large scale.
