Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the politics of sit-ins for the last 9 months has left no stone unturned in crippling the economy, the Udan Pakistan program will prove to be a good omen for the new year, we have no option but to increase exports.
Addressing the federal cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister further said that I pray for the prosperity of Pakistan at the beginning of the new year, if we make efforts to achieve our goals with determination and hard work, then Udan Pakistan will prove to be a good omen in the new year.
He said that if Pakistan’s economic development is the goal, then we have no option but export-led growth. Stability and progress have been achieved in the growth sector. In this regard, the progress in the ADR (Advance to Deposit Ratio) should be appreciated, as a result of which revenues of $72 billion have come to the treasury and 97% of the December target has been achieved in terms of revenues.
The Prime Minister said that faceless interaction has started at Karachi Port. When I went to Karachi Port in July last year, I was told that we are building real estate at such and such a place. The Prime Minister said that I was very sad and regretful and I told him that your job is to run the port or run real estate.
The Prime Minister said that after 100 percent digitization in the FBR in April last year with $6 million funding from the Bill Gates Foundation, a trial run of faceless interaction has begun at Karachi Port today, as a result of which the inspection time of containers has been reduced by 39 percent and businessmen have received relief.
