Senior leader of Muslim League (N) and Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the numbers for the constitutional amendment are complete but they are trying to reach an agreement among the political parties.
Muslim League (N) leader Khawaja Asif while talking to journalists said that it is better if there is a consensus on the 26th constitutional amendment, it will be more useful in the future, but if there is no consensus, the numbers are still full.
In response to a question regarding the frequent change of the time of the National Assembly Vicenet session, he said that the change in the time of the sessions is to create consensus.
Earlier, Muslim League (N) Senator Irfan Siddiqui claimed in a conversation with journalists that the draft constitution is ready, the federal cabinet has to approve it, yesterday the cabinet meeting was held for a while, the cabinet should approve it. So it will come to the Senate.
It should be remembered that the meeting of the federal cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ended without any decision on the constitutional amendment, which was adjourned till 9:30 this morning. Could not start.
On the other hand, efforts to reach a consensus on the issue of a possible constitutional amendment by the governing coalition continue while the Senate session has been rescheduled once again.
According to the notification issued by the Senate Secretariat, the Senate meeting will now be held at 3 PM instead of 12:30 PM.
It should be noted that contrary to the government’s claim of reaching a consensus on the draft of the proposed constitutional amendment bill yesterday, the opposition in both houses of the parliament continued to protest against the harassment of its members. Under the current circumstances will never vote in favor of this bill.
