Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet has approved the amendments in Police Act.
The amendments were approved in today’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet meeting. The powers in the province were transferred from the Chief Minister to the IG Police in 2017. After the approval of the amendment, the powers will again be transferred to the Chief Minister. The amendments are expected to be tabled in the Assembly today for approval. After the amendments in the Police Act, the power to appoint, transfer and punish senior police officers will be withdrawn from the IG in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
