London: Manchester Originals beat London Spirit by 12 runs in The Hundred Tournament.
In the 23rd match of the event played at Lord’s, the London Spirit team managed to score 123 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 100 balls in pursuit of 136.
Keaton Jennings scored 61 not out for London Spirit. Shimron Hetmyer 44, Michael Pepper 9, Andre Russell 1 while Ollie Pope and captain Dean Lawrence scored 0 and 0 runs.
Matt Critchley remained not out with 2 runs.
Fazal Haq Farooqui took 3 wickets while Scott Currie took 1 wicket for Manchester Originals.
Earlier, batting first at Spirit’s invitation, the Originals scored 135 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 100 balls.
On behalf of the originals, captain Phil Salt was outstanding by scoring 58 runs. Max Holden 35, Matthew Hurst 2, Jamie Orton 1 and Sikandar Raza 0 runs out.
Wayne Madsen scored 17 and Paul Walter returned to the pavilion not out with 15 runs.
Richard Gleeson and Ollie Stone took 2, 2 dismissals for Spirit.
