The federal government has decided to appoint Rashid Langriyal of Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) as the Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
The federal government has completed the preparations for the appointment of the new chairman FBR, the approval of the appointment of the chairman FBR will be taken from the federal cabinet.
Sources said that Grade 21 officer Rashid Langriyal is currently posted as Secretary Power Division.
It may be recalled that on July 31, Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Amjad Zubair Towana had decided to take early retirement.
Sources said that Amjad Zubair Towana has given 2 weeks notice to resign, the Inland Revenue Service officer of Grade 21 was to retire on February 25, 2025.
Sources said that Amjad Zubair Towana sent a letter to the government for premature retirement.
According to the sources, it is said in the text of the post that Amjad Zubair Towana had also verbally informed the Minister of State Ahad Cheema that he wants to leave his post and take early retirement.
