Under the chairmanship of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, an important meeting was held in the Ministry of Interior regarding the establishment of peace and order during Muharram throughout the country. In the meeting, the security plan of Muharram in all provinces, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad was reviewed in detail.
From 1st Muharram to 10th Muharram, in view of the security of processions and congregations, it was decided to ban the use of drones throughout the country, however, the decision to block internet or mobile phones will be taken in consultation with the relevant provinces in the context of security concerns.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that the citizens face difficulties due to the shutdown of internet or mobile phones, in this regard, decisions need to be made according to the ground realities and security situation, Federal Provinces, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad. I will provide all possible support for peace.
Mohsin Naqvi said that the needs of the provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan related to public order will be met, advance plans should be prepared for processions and assemblies in view of the rains and strict checking should be done on the entry and exit routes, processions and Meetings should be monitored through cameras.
The Interior Minister said that the code of conduct should be enforced, the security of mosques, Imambargahs and other places of worship should be given full attention, the IGs of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad. Federal Secretary Interior, Federal Secretary Religious Affairs, Chairman CDA, IG Islamabad Police, Ministry of Interior and senior officials of law enforcement agencies participated in the meeting.
Chief Secretaries of all Provinces, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, IGs Police, Home Secretaries, Commandants of Frontier Constabulary, Frontier Corps Balochistan North. South and top officials of law enforcement agencies participated in the meeting through video link.
