Islamabad: The federal government has decided to approach the international bond market to issue bonds worth between $50 million and $1 billion.
According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, the Chinese market will start with panda bonds of up to 30 million dollars.
The bonds will be issued after the IMF approves the new loan program and Eurobonds will also be issued after one year if the rating improves.
Sources say that the financial market, including Chinese commercial banks, will be approached, bonds will be issued to cover the deficit and interest on external debt.
