Islamabad: The court reserved its decision on whether the petition against the appointment of Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri is admissible or not.
Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Amir Farooq heard the petition of Mian Dawood against the appointment of Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri. During the hearing, Chief Justice Amir Farooq remarked that the registrar office has objections to your request, you should read your request.
Petitioner Mian Dawood’s counsel told the court that there is an objection to making the Supreme Judicial Commission a party. We request that the honorable judges do not meet their qualifications, investigate it.

The lawyer referred to the 1998 judgment of the Supreme Court in the Sajjad Ali Shah case, to which the Chief Justice said, “You are saying that if it is a personal matter of a judge, you can see it.” The lawyer replied that yes, that is what I am saying.
The lawyer pleaded that my application is admissible. An application has been filed to know the authenticity of the letter circulating on social media. Chief Justice Amir Farooq remarked that I have written down your points, thank you very much.
The lawyer said that the university’s letters are being discussed on social media and in the media, to which the Chief Justice said that you should not talk about the merits now, give arguments on admissibility. Later, the court reserved its decision regarding the admissibility of the petition.
