The Islamabad High Court has reserved its decision on the petition regarding the ban on the meeting of Noreen Khanum, the sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamir Farooq heard the case against PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister Noreen Khanum against the ban on meeting. Salman Akram Raja, Ali Bukhari and others appeared in the court on behalf of petitioner Noreen Khanum, while Additional Attorney General Manoor Iqbal Dogal and Deputy Superintendent Adiala Jail appeared in the court on behalf of the federal government.
The Additional Attorney General, while presenting the notification of the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the threat alert, said that in Adiala Jail, not only the founder PTI, but all kinds of activities are banned.
Salman Akram Raja took the stand that a sister and a doctor should always be allowed to meet. Imran Khan’s personal physician Dr. Asim should be allowed to visit him in jail. The founder of PTI is the former prime minister of the country. God willing, if anything happens to him.
The court inquired from the Deputy Superintendent of Adiala Jail that since when is the ban on meetings in Adiala Jail? To which he replied that there is a ban on meetings in Adiala Jail from October 5 to October 18. The court reserved its decision on Noreen Khanum’s request regarding permission to meet PTI founder.
