According to the Saudi Embassy, the pilgrims who died during Hajj this year did not have the necessary facilities due to which they suffered from heatstroke.
An explanatory statement was issued yesterday by the Saudi Embassy following the death of a large number of pilgrims. In which it was stated that the majority of pilgrims who died during Hajj did not have permission to perform Hajj.
The statement said that a significant increase in temperature was observed in Makkah this year. In such a situation, a large number of pilgrims from different countries had arrived in Saudi Arabia on tourism or visit visas.
According to the Saudi Embassy, these pilgrims came on tourist visas and did not have Hajj permits. Due to this, they could not get accommodation, food, transportation facilities provided by any company or institution.
The statement said that these pilgrims who came on visit visas were walking long distances in the holy cities under the scorching sun. These conditions, which were not reserved for pedestrians, led to the death of many people.
According to Arab media, the total number of pilgrims who died during Hajj 2024 has increased to over 1,000.
