Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that the 26th constitutional amendment was necessary for the supremacy of the Parliament.
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz said in a statement that with the approval of the 26th constitutional amendment, Parliament has regained full constitutional authority and dignity. The amendment will deliver timely justice and will be seen to be done – the 26th constitutional amendment was necessary for the supremacy of Parliament.
Maryam Nawaz further said that the 26th amendment opened the chapter of positive reforms in the judicial system. This amendment will place Pakistan in the ranks of the ideal democracy of the world. I welcome the interest waiver clause-
The judiciary has been made independent and strengthened and public access to justice has been ensured. The 26th constitutional amendment is a clear message that the voice of the people should be the loudest.
