According to ISPR, security forces were sent for a clearance operation at the health center where they vigorously engaged the terrorists and as a result of the firing, three terrorists were killed.
It was stated in the statement that 44-year-old Naib Subidar of Narowal Muhammad Farooq and 23-year-old Sepoy Muhammad Javed Iqbal of Khanewal were martyred during the intense exchange of fire.
According to ISPR, operations are on to eliminate more terrorists in the area and those involved in the heinous act of targeting innocent civilians, especially women and children, will be brought to justice.
It should be noted that a few hours before this attack, terrorists had also carried out a major attack in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in which 8 Pakistan Army personnel were martyred while all 10 terrorists were killed in the retaliatory action of the security forces.
According to ISPR, on July 15, 10 terrorists attacked the cantonment in Bannu and the security forces foiled the terrorists’ attempt to enter the cantt.
However, in the meantime, the terrorists rammed a vehicle full of gunpowder into the wall of the Bannu cantonment and 8 Pakistan Army personnel were martyred in this suicide attack.
In the last one and a half to two years, there has been an increase in the number of terrorist incidents in the country, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Last week, military officials told reporters in a briefing that 1,063 incidents of attacks on security forces took place this year, in which 111 Pakistani soldiers were martyred.
