Trinidad: In the first semi-final of the ICCT 20 World Cup, the entire team of Afghanistan was dismissed by scoring 56 runs against South Africa.
Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first in this first semi-final of the mega event at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad. The entire Afghanistan team was bowled out for just 56 runs in 11.5 overs.
No Afghan batsman could stand up to the good bowling of the Proteas bowlers, Azmatullah Umarzai of Afghanistan was the only batsman to get into double figures, scoring 10 runs. While three players returned to the pavilion at zero.
Rehmanullah Garbaz Safar, Ibrahim Zardan 2, Gulbuddin Naib 9, Muhammad Nabi Safar and Khorote could score only 2 runs.
Karim Jannat and Rashid Khan scored 8 and 8 runs respectively, Noor Ahmed Safar and Naveen ul Haq scored 2 runs.
On behalf of South Africa, Tabriz Shamsi and Marco Jensen dismissed 3, 3 players, Rabada and Enrich took 2, 2 wickets.
For the first time in history, the Afghanistan team is playing in the semi-finals of the mega event.
