New Delhi: An official of the Border Security Force posted on the border with Bangladesh shot himself with an official rifle.
According to a foreign news agency, 40-year-old Indian officer Arun Dilip was posted in Tripura. The cause of his suicide was not known. Arun Dileep’s body was sent to his native region for last rites after post-mortem.
Incidents of suicide among Indian soldiers deployed in border and tension zones are common. Many Border Security Force personnel and officers commit suicide under pressure of circumstances or due to differences and conflicts of interest.
An inquiry committee has also been formed to prevent the increasing incidents of suicide in the Indian forces. However, so far no such committee has been able to find out the real causes of suicide.
