Suicide attack on check post in Waziristan, 8 people including security personnel were martyred, 5 injured
8 people including security personnel were martyred and 5 injured in a suicide attack on a check post of the forces in North Waziristan tribal district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
8 people were martyred and 5 injured in a suicide attack on a joint check post of police and army ‘Aslam’ in Eidak area of Mir Ali.
According to a senior police officer, the suicide bomber detonated a rickshaw full of explosives after hitting the check post. The martyrs include four policemen, two soldiers and two civilians. Along with the check post, an army vehicle was also targeted in the blast.
The injured were immediately shifted to Miran Shah Hospital, where the condition of many is said to be serious due to which the number of martyred people is feared to increase. Security forces have cordoned off the spot and further action is underway.
In another incident, a remote-controlled bomb exploded on a military convoy in Gul Imam village of Tank district in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. No casualties were reported in the explosion.
Speaker KP Assembly Babar Saleem Swati expressed regret for the loss of precious lives and said that 8 people including 4 police personnel were martyred in the attack, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police is always in the forefront against these cowardly acts.
