Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, while offering his services for the talks between the government and the opposition, said that talks are necessary to end differences and my office is always available for this.
Ayaz Sadiq issued a video statement in which he said that I am not attending the National Assembly session due to my busy schedule. I went to the house for a very short time yesterday as well.
He said that I am still busy today because the Speaker of the Saudi Shura and a delegation accompanying him are on a visit to Pakistan, who want our parliament-to-parliament relations to improve further.
He said that I saw the atmosphere that was created yesterday, the way PTI’s Sher Afzal Marwat and PML-N’s Rana Sanaullah and Khawaja Asif talked.
Ayaz Sadiq said that the office and house of the speaker belong to the government and the opposition, the doors of the speaker are always open to his members, whether the proceedings of the house are going on or not.
He said that the Speaker’s house and office are open 24 hours a day. If the government and the opposition want to resolve the bitterness, discuss national interests or discuss law and order issues, they can come.
He said that apart from this, there are many other issues including climate change and provincial autonomy, which the government and the opposition should discuss, so I am ready for that. Come and sit and talk.
The Speaker of the National Assembly said that as long as I am in this position, I will not let any shortcomings happen. All members, whether they belong to the government or the opposition, are equal and respectful to me.
He added that he is ready to play a role in negotiations on any issue, including political issues.
It should be noted that during the National Assembly session yesterday, Sher Afzal Marwat had said in his speech that the media talks about negotiations and here they say that negotiations are not taking place, lies are being told in front of the nation.
He said that yesterday Khawaja Asif had said that PTI will have to take the initiative for negotiations, but for this the government will also have to come out of its ego first. Politicians do not agree on TORs for negotiations.
Later, Khawaja Asif said during the National Assembly that what Sher Afzal Marwat said was a cool breeze. The country is suffering losses in this war of ours. Issues are resolved through understanding, not through threats. Politicians use political language to resolve issues and negotiate.
The Defense Minister said that I am not an expert in negotiations, but there are people in our party and the PPP who are capable of it. I believe that change should come in such a way that an environment can be created, but if you are increasing tension with your language and expect negotiations to take place, then this is not possible.
Advisor to the Prime Minister, Rana Sanaullah, said in his speech that the system cannot move forward until there is dialogue between the government and the opposition. There is no solution, including political stability, except for political people sitting down and resolving issues in a democratic manner.
