Madrid: The father of famous Spanish footballer Lamine Yamel was attacked with a knife by unknown persons last night, injuring him.
Munir Nasrawi, the father of Barcelona and Spain star winger Lamine Yamel, was attacked with a knife in a parking lot in the northeastern Spanish city of Matero on Wednesday night, a foreign news agency said.
According to local media reports, Nasrawi was taken to Can Roti Hospital in the nearby city of Badalona with deep stab wounds.
It has been further stated that the local and regional police have started searching for several eyewitnesses to the incident.
However, a report by sports website Revolo later cited official sources as saying that Nasrawi had been discharged from hospital and had returned home.
A football prodigy who grew up in Matero, a working-class and multi-ethnic suburb of Barcelona, Yemel became the breakout star of Euro 2024 in Germany.
Spain also won the final of Euro 2024 on 9 July in the semi-final after defeating France thanks to Yamel’s goal.
