South Africa has lost another key fast bowler ahead of the third ODI against Pakistan.
Otneil Baartman has been ruled out of the third ODI against Pakistan due to a right knee injury.
Otneil Baartman is the second Proteas bowler to be ruled out of the current ODI series after spinner Keshav Maharaj, and the sixth fast bowler to be ruled out of the team this summer due to unfitness, with Gerald Coetzee, Van Milder, Langi Ngidi, Lizad Williams and Enrich Nwekia already out due to fitness issues.
Corbin Bosh, who was included in the Test squad for the first time, has been included in the ODI squad in place of Baartman and is looking forward to making his Test debut against Pakistan starting on Boxing Day.
Otnell Baartman felt discomfort while bowling in the run-up to the second ODI in Cape Town on Thursday. He was not part of the announced playing XI for the second match but was part of the team in the first match of the series in Paarl two days earlier, taking 2 wickets for 37 in 7 overs. Baartman’s next assignment is the SAT20 where he is contracted to Sunrisers Eastern.
