Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha revealed during a roundtable discussion that a senior male actor refused to give her a role in a film on the grounds that she looked older than him. Although in reality, the actor was much older than Sonakshi.
“I thank him because I am not interested in working with such a person. Women always face pressures that do not apply to men. Men have no shame in romancing women 30 years younger, but women face criticism in every case.”
She added, “Once, an actor older than me said that I look older than him. I just said, ‘Hey, I’m 5-6 years younger than you!’ Women always have to struggle to make their place, while everything is easy for men. We are all artists, so why this struggle for women?”
It may be recalled that Sonakshi recently responded to Mukesh Khanna’s statement on Instagram and wrote, “Yes, I didn’t answer Sanjeevani Buti’s question at that time, but it seems you have also forgotten the lesson of ‘forgive and forget’ from Ramayana.”
