Houston: Sheila Jackson Lee, head of the Pakistan Caucus in the US Congress, has passed away.
According to American media, 74-year-old Sheila Jackson was suffering from cancer. Sheila Jackson belonged to the Democratic Party and was one of the longest-serving members of Congress from the state of Texas. Sheila Jackson was counted among the supporters of Pakistan and she supported Pakistan by taking a categorical stand on various issues.
Sheila Jackson was awarded the Hilal Pakistan in 2022 by the Government of Pakistan in recognition of her services. Sheila Jackson began her political career as a Democrat in 1994, defeating four-time Democrat Craig Washington in the first primary election.
Sheila Jackson used to take the lead in public gatherings. He also gained notoriety for his struggle to get federal funds for his area of Houston. In 2009, Sheila Jackson approved a $1 billion appropriation to improve the city’s light system.
