The District and Sessions Court, Islamabad, acquitted Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid in the assassination conspiracy case against President Asif Ali Zardari.
Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mahmood gave a reserved verdict on Sheikh Rashid’s acquittal application. Sheikh Rashid appeared in the court along with his lawyers.
It should be remembered that a case was registered against Sheikh Rashid in Aabpara police station in 2023, in which provisions of conspiracy and inciting the public were imposed.
Yesterday, the lawyers had requested to acquit Sheikh Rashid Ahmed from the case registered in Aabpara police station.
