Section 144 was imposed in Rawalpindi for 8 days.
According to the Home Department spokesperson, the purpose of the implementation of Section 144 is to secure the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit. All kinds of political gatherings, sit-ins, meetings, demonstrations, protests and all such activities have been banned in Rawalpindi. Double riding and aerial firing will also be banned within the city limits.
According to the spokesperson, under Section 144, pigeon flying, flying drones and use of laser lights will also be prohibited. Section 144 has been implemented from October 10 to 17. The decision to implement Section 144 was taken at the request of the district administration. Representatives of law enforcement agencies will be exempt from the restrictions.
