Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been banned from bowling in any competition organised by the English Cricket Board (ECB) for a suspicious action.
The 37-year-old all-rounder has been under investigation for his bowling action since the match between Surrey and Somerset in September.
An independent inspection found that Shakib’s action was bent more than 15 degrees, as stipulated in the ECB’s regulations.
A statement issued by the English board said that Shakib is ineligible to bowl in any competition organised by the ECB until he passes his bowling action test.
It should be noted that Shakib Al Hasan was part of Surrey for the crucial match against title rivals Somerset and took nine wickets in both innings.
