Islamabad: Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi termed the current budget as the worst budget in history.
Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi while holding a press conference in Islamabad said that the entire burden of taxes in the budget has been put on the salaried class. However, the government should have reduced its expenditure.
He said that there is no justification for giving tax exemptions to civil and military bureaucrats. Now the country’s economy will remain or the budget will remain.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that people are at the breaking point and the relationship can break anytime. What will the government do if people stop paying taxes? Out of 30 thousand billion in the budget, only 500 billion is for the poor. 30 trillion rupees is being spent by the government while the entire burden of taxes has been put on the salaried class.
He said that some 50% and some 60% tax is increasing. Even above the given tax, the logic of the tax is not understood. Milk and baby food were also taxed. If diesel and LPG smuggling is stopped, there will be no need for any tax.
The former prime minister said that 2.5 to 4.5 percent tax was imposed on the sale of land and house. Tax exemption has been given to retired and serving civil and military people.
