Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi hugged the judge of the transferred May 9 case.
The cases of arson in Shadman and Mughalpura police stations were heard in the anti-terrorism court in Lahore on May 9.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Alia Hamza appeared in the court.
Judge Khalid Arshad said that today I am not sitting in the court as a judge, today I have only to adjourn the case to the next date, now I will not make any order on merit, I may leave my charge tomorrow.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that we are sorry that you did not decide on our bails, now you are going to new duty, we wish you good luck, bail is our right, we have to run away from this country. We request that you weigh justice in your scales.
During the hearing, the judge remarked that the freedom which is in one’s neck cannot be allowed by law, I am adjourning the case till 9th.
Shah Mehmood said that he will keep the case on September 9, not on 9/11.
Yasmin Rashid said, “Judge sir, listen to me.”
Judge Khalid Arshad told Shah Mehmood that I have heard your smoky speeches. The judge told Yasmeen Rashid that you should not speak today, when the new judge comes, you will speak openly in front of them.
Umar Sarfaraz Cheema said that we have been in jail for 12 years, so far four judges have changed, on one hand they say that there should be decisions like Capitol Hill in May 9 cases, on the other hand they are not deciding the cases.
The court canceled the arrest warrants of PTI women leaders Alia Hamza and Sanam Javed in the Shadman Jalau Gherao case and adjourned the hearing to September 9 without proceeding.
