Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the team management for the Test series of home matches against Bangladesh.
The announcement issued by the board said that Naveed Akram Cheema has been appointed as the new manager after the removal of senior manager Wahab Riaz and assistant manager Mansoor Rana after the T20 World Cup.
Naveed Akram Cheema served as the team manager during Pakistan’s tour of Australia and New Zealand last year from 2023 to January 2024, he was replaced by Mansoor Rana in the squad for the latter series.
Following Pakistan’s poor performance in the ICC World Cup 2024, both Mansoor Rana and senior team manager Wahab Riaz were sacked after reports of indiscipline within the squad surfaced.
Team management includes Naveed Akram Cheema, Test team head coach Jason Gillespie, assistant coach Azhar Mehmood.
It should be noted that the first Test match of the series between Bangladesh and Pakistan will be played from August 21 to 25 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, while the second match will be played at the National Stadium Karachi from August 30 to September 3.
