In a letter written to Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, the senior-most judges of the Supreme Court have said that in the Practice and Procedure Committee meeting on October 21, it was decided to file the 26th Amendment case in the full court.
The letter said that it was decided that the case would be heard by the full court on November 4, but despite the committee’s decision, no cause list was issued.
According to the letter, the two senior judges had requested the Chief Justice to call the Practice and Procedure Committee meeting on October 31, but when Justice Yahya Afridi did not call the meeting, we both judges called the meeting ourselves under Section 2.
The letter said that 2 judges decided in the meeting that the case against the 26th amendment will be heard by the full court on November 4, so the petitions against the 26th amendment should be placed before the full court in the same week.
The two judges also directed the registrar to publish the meeting minutes of October 31 on the website.
