Islamabad: The meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Information Technology was chaired by Senator Palwasha Khan.
While briefing the meeting on the satellite policy, Chairman PTA Major General (retd) Hafizur Rahman said that Starlink applied for a PTA license in February 2022.
Starlink’s application was sent to the Ministry of IT for security clearance, and the case is now with the new regulatory body.
Talking about the Starlink issue, Senator Afnanullah said that Elon Musk launched a campaign against Pakistan on social media. Can any company that wants to do business in Pakistan do so?
He said that the British government has declared Elon Musk’s allegations false. Elon Musk should first apologize, then the license will be considered.
