Islamabad: Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir has said that those who obstruct the country’s security and prevent the army from working will have to face the consequences.
Speaking at the Apex Committee meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, the Army Chief said that every Pakistani is a soldier in the war on terror, some in uniform and some without, we all have to fight the scourge of terrorism together.
He said that the Constitution of Pakistan is paramount to all of us, the Constitution imposes on us (the army) the responsibility of Pakistan’s internal and external security, whoever obstructs Pakistan’s security and prevents us from doing our job will have to face the consequences.
General Syed Asim Munir said that the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies are filling the gaps in governance on a daily basis by sacrificing their martyrs.
