In view of the security of Muharram, Section 144 was imposed across Punjab including Lahore.
According to the spokesperson of the Punjab Interior Department, the display of weapons and inflammable materials in public places will be banned without the permission of the authority.
Aggressive slogans and gestures are completely banned, remarks inciting racial hatred from any device are also banned.
A ban has also been imposed on the collection of bricks, bottles or garbage on the procession routes. All restrictions except double riding will be applicable till 10th of Muharram throughout Punjab.
According to Punjab Interior Department, senior citizens, women and security personnel are exempted from the ban on double riding, the ban on double riding will last from 7 to 10 Muharram.
