Portuguese star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has sparked controversy after he addressed his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez as “my wife” at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards ceremony in Dubai.
Cristiano Ronaldo won two awards at the Globe Soccer ceremony in Dubai, including the Best Middle Eastern Player and Top Goal Scorer awards.
After receiving the awards, Ronaldo expressed his gratitude to his family and said that it is a great pleasure to win these trophies, my eldest son and my wife Georgina (girlfriend) are here! They are my support to continue playing, I will be 40 in a month but everything is not over yet.
The star footballer of Saudi club Al-Nasr has been dating Georgina, 30, since 2016, with whom he has two children, while he has three children with his first girlfriend.
The couple is yet to get married, nor has Ronaldo proposed to Georgina, leading to criticism for calling his girlfriend his wife.
