Berlin: ISIS has claimed responsibility for the knife-wielding attack on participants in a colorful festival in the western German city of Sollingen.
According to the international news agency, the spokesman of the German police said that 2 people have been arrested from the hostel of 2 refugees located some distance from the scene of the knife attack.
The police spokesman did not reveal the identity of the accused despite being asked by journalists and said that the investigation is still in the initial stage. So it would be premature to say anything. Details will be given to the media when concrete evidence comes out.
On the other hand, the Amaq news agency affiliated with Daesh wrote on the social media platform Telegram that the attack on the gathering of Christians in Sollingen, Germany yesterday was a soldier of the Islamic State and this attack is revenge for Muslims living in Palestine and everywhere. .
However, this claim of Daesh has not yet been confirmed by independent sources.
It should be remembered that 3 people, including a woman, were killed in the attack by a knife-wielding person at the festival on Friday night, while 4 of the 9 injured are in critical condition.
The festival, which continued till Sunday, was suspended after the incident.
