Rawalpindi: Today is the 14th consecutive day of protest sit-in under Jamaat-e-Islami at Liaquat Bagh Chowk and the participants of the sit-in are looking energetic.

Later, Jamaat-e-Islami workers from all over the country, businessmen and people associated with other organizations and those who arrived in the form of groups and caravans from different cities raised slogans in favor of their demands in the protest sit-in. The number of people participating in the sit-in is increasing day by day.
Jamaat-e-Islami will march towards Murree Road under the leadership of Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman today for their demands.
Apart from Jamaat-e-Islami’s Rawalpindi dharna for the approval of agreements with IPPs, unnecessary taxes, heavy electricity bills, petrol and gas prices, inflation and other demands, the dharna is also going on at the Governor’s House in Karachi, after which Now a sit-in has been announced in Peshawar on August 12.
It should be noted that Jamaat-e-Islami had announced sit-ins in Rawalpindi as well as in other cities of the country in case the demands were not accepted by the government.
During this time, the government’s negotiation team has held four rounds of negotiations with Jamaat-e-Islami, but no significant progress has been made in all four meetings.
