District and Sessions Court Islamabad handed over Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Rauf Hassan to FIA on 2-day further remand.
On completion of physical remand, Rauf Hassan was produced in the court of Duty Judge Mureed Abbas in Islamabad. The court rejected the request for physical remand of Saida Arooba and ordered her to be sent to jail on judicial remand.
Judge Mureed Abbas said that the physical remand of Rauf Hasan and other accused is extended till Tuesday, July 30. An 8-day physical remand was requested by the FIA.
During the hearing, the FIA prosecutor said that transcripts of anti-state videos have been placed in the records. A further 8 days of physical remand is required for further recovery.
The FIA prosecutor further said that they can get a 30-day remand under the PICA Act, how can we conduct an inquiry until the accused are in custody. Judge Mureed Abbas questioned whether Rauf Hasan’s visa from India or Has the ticket arrived?
On this, the FIA prosecutor said that the travel ticket of G. Rauf Hasan has come from India. Judge Mureed Abbas asked that Mr. Rauf Hasan, have you ever been to India? You have a chat with a guy named Rahul, admit it?
The PTI leader told the court on this occasion that Ji Rahul lives in England, he invited me to Bahrain as a guest speaker. I was invited to Bahrain in December 2023. I am a senior fellow at King’s College London.
PTI lawyer Ali Bukhari said that a woman was arrested yesterday. Woman handles social media accounts of PTI as an employee, arrested from hostel which is against law.
Rauf Hasan said that the case in which I was arrested does not come under my jurisdiction, my responsibility is to deal with the electronic media. They are baseless.
