Karachi: Afghanistan’s renowned all-rounder Rashid Khan is returning to Test cricket after almost four years.
26-year-old Rashid Khan has been included in the Afghan squad for the two-Test series against Zimbabwe, which will be played in Bulawayo from December 26 to January 6.
Rashid Khan was advised to stay away from Test cricket 4 years ago due to back surgery, and he last played a Test match against Zimbabwe in 2021. Now he is fully recovered and ready for his emotional and powerful game in Test cricket.
Afghanistan has made another significant change while announcing its squad for this series. For the first time, left-handed batsman Siddiqullah Atul has been included in the squad, who has previously played ODIs and T20 matches for Afghanistan.
Afghanistan’s Test squad will be led by Hashmatullah Shahidi, who is currently considered one of the team’s key players. This series is expected to further improve Afghanistan’s Test cricket.
