ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party rejected the resignation of Umar Ayub from the post of Secretary General and accepted the resignation of Umar Ayub while taking a statement from PTI founder Imran Khan on its decision. Demanded not to.
A meeting of PTI’s parliamentary party was held at the Parliament House where unanimous confidence was expressed in Umar Ayub as PTI’s General Secretary.
The statement issued after the meeting said that the parliamentary party unanimously demands that Umar Ayub’s resignation should not be accepted and that he be directed to continue his work as the party’s general secretary.
The demand from PTI parliamentary party to Imran Khan has come within 24 hours of the resignation of General Secretary Umar Ayub from the party post, however Umar Ayub is still the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly despite his resignation from the party’s top post.
On the reports of differences within the PTI on the resignation of Omar Ayub, there is an impression of confusion among the members, where on the one hand the party has announced rallies and protests for the release of Imran Khan, on the other hand, the Secretary General has focused on parliamentary affairs. He has left the important position of the party for the purpose of giving.
The PTI Parliamentary strongly condemned the news, which said that a forward bloc had formed within the party and clarified that there is no forward bloc within the parliamentary party or within the party and under the leadership of founding chairman Imran Khan. All are united.
It should be noted that Umar Ayub had announced his resignation from the post of Secretary General of the party on the social media website X yesterday and said that I am grateful to the founder PTI for accepting my resignation as PTI Secretary General. On June 22, it was sent to PTI founder and chairman Barrister Gohar Ali.
He said that the leader of the opposition in the Senate, Senator Shibli Faraz, conveyed my message to the founder of PTI during his meeting in Adiala Jail today.
Umar Ayub said that as an opposition leader, he was not able to do justice to the position of the secretary general of the party, so someone else should be nominated as the secretary general of the party.
He has also resigned from the post of PTI Chairman Central Finance Board apart from being the General Secretary of the party.
Umar Ayub said that as a worker for PTI, I will continue to work according to PTI’s ideology.
