Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf will march towards Islamabad today on the call of its founding chairman and protest at D-Chowk.
As per the instructions and call of the founder of PTI, the PTI leadership has declared today’s protest on November 24 as decisive and has appealed to the public to participate in large numbers.
Under the leadership of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, convoys from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will reach Swabi and then set off towards Islamabad as a main convoy at 11 am.
Ali Amin Gandapur has said that they will sit at D-Chowk until all demands, including the release of Imran Khan, are approved. According to the Chief Minister’s spokesperson, no matter how many roads are blocked or containers are installed, they will protest after reaching Islamabad and fulfill their demands. They will take private machinery with them to open the roads, not government machinery.
PTI leader Shandana Gulzar has said that whether it takes 12 hours or 100 hours, they will reach D-Chowk in any case. The government will dig up roads or install containers and start the sit-in wherever the road is blocked.
Bushra Bibi, wife of the founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, has decided not to participate in the protest and will monitor the convoys from the Chief Minister House, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Meanwhile, the federal government has made it clear that in light of the court orders, no one will be allowed to protest or sit-in in Islamabad and the law will be taken against those who violate it.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi telephoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gauhar and informed him about the orders issued by the Islamabad High Court and informed him that the government will comply with the court order at all costs.
The Interior Minister informed the PTI Chairman that the President of Belarus and an 80-member high-level delegation are visiting Pakistan for three days from November 24. Barrister Gohar had sought time to consult with party leaders regarding the postponement of the protest.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, while addressing the soldiers at the Police Lines, had said that this time those who took the law into their own hands should not be spared and everyone who disturbed the peace and order should be arrested.
Meanwhile, NACTA issued a terrorism alert in connection with the PTI protest, stating that the terrorists of Fitna-ul-Kharij entered Pakistan from the Pak-Afghan border on the night of November 19 and 20 to target the PTI protest, with the aim of committing terrorism.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home Department has also issued a threat alert of a suicide attack in the Islamabad protest and has directed all institutions to ensure measures.
In view of the PTI protest, motorways, highways and routes leading to Islamabad have been sealed, while the entrance routes to Islamabad have been closed and the Murree Road has been dug up. In addition, motorways from Lahore to Islamabad and Peshawar to the capital have also been closed, while police and FC personnel have been deployed at the junction of KP and Punjab.
In addition, the road entering Lahore from Jhelum, Faisalabad, Lahore Babu Sabu, Sharqpur Interchange, Shahdara Ravi Bridge has also been closed, while metro bus service in neighboring cities has been completely and partially closed in Lahore.
The government has decided to suspend internet service, including mobile data, in areas of security concern, while 30,000 police personnel from other provinces, including FC, have been deployed in Islamabad to stop the protesters.
In Islamabad, the police have claimed to have arrested more than 300 PTI workers who arrived before the protest, while in Rawalpindi, the police are also active to arrest PTI workers.
In addition, the PTI Punjab Vice President has been arrested and raids have been conducted to arrest other workers.
