Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) withdrew from the petition filed by Advocate Faisal Hussain Chaudhry in the Islamabad High Court to provide jail facilities to its founding chairman Imran Khan.
Advocate Faisal Chaudhry has claimed that the petition was filed with the consent of Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.
However, Barrister Gohar Ali, in his post on micro-blogging website X, said that Faisal Chaudhry filed the application on his own using Imran Khan’s old power of attorney against the instructions of our legal team.
It may be remembered that a day ago Faisal Chaudhry was removed from PTI’s legal team and party secretary general Salman Akram Raja also separated him from all the cases related to the founder PTI while he was removed from PTI’s legal team. It has also been removed from lawyers’ WhatsApp groups, Barrister Gauhar also confirmed on Saturday night.
In response to which Faisal Chaudhry said in his message on the social networking website Twitter that he can understand that Barrister Gohar is under severe pressure.
There are allegations against Faisal Chaudhry that he was working with Imran Khan’s spokesperson Intizar Panjotha to facilitate the return of some leaders to the party.
It may be noted that Fawad Chaudhry, brother of Advocate Faisal Chaudhry, was earlier part of the federal cabinet in the PTI government, but left the party during the crackdown on its leaders after the change of government in 2022.
