Apart from this, the Punjab government also imposed Section 144 across the province yesterday, under which a ban was imposed on meetings, rallies and sit-ins. In view of the rally and political convoys, the red zone has been sealed by the Islamabad administration and a holiday has been announced on August 22 for public and private schools. Deputy Commissioner Islamabad decided to keep the schools closed in the context of the situation and said that it has been decided to close the schools in view of the safety of the children.

In view of possible protests in the federal capital and Punjab, the Rawalpindi police have erected barricades on the central highways.
