Rawalpindi: In view of the protest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, the administration has sealed the important places of Rawalpindi, closed the entrances and deployed heavy personnel.
To stop the protest by PTI in Liaquat Bagh, the Rawalpindi administration sealed the city completely by installing containers. No traffic can enter the city while the citizens are facing difficulties due to road closures. Thousands of police personnel have been deployed at various locations.
A heavy contingent of law enforcement agencies is deployed in the city. Liaquat Bagh has been completely sealed and Section 144 has been imposed across the city, which prohibits any kind of rally, assembly or sit-in, including display of weapons. has also been partially suspended.
All major intersections of the city are closed
Meanwhile, Faizabad to Murir Chowk has been completely sealed. All Chowks entering Murree Road, Liaquat Bagh Chowk, Committee Chowk, Asghar Mall Chowk are also closed. Apart from this, Chandni Chowk, Rahmanabad Chowk, Sadiqabad Chowk, Shamsabad Double Road Chowk have also been sealed. Meanwhile, Liaquat Bagh has been locked and completely sealed.
Small lanes leading to Murree Road are sealed with barbed wire. Two government offices in Liaquat Bagh have also been sealed. All the educational institutions of Liaquat Road, Iqbal Road and Sixth Road are closed. All the hotels in Liaquat Road and Iqbal Road have been closed and the rooms have been vacated. Morning walking was not allowed in Liaquat Bagh. Ambulance access to Murree Road and Allied Hospitals has also been blocked and police and prisoner vans have been deployed at all intersections.
Apart from this, entry of bicycles towards Liaquat Bagh Motor has also been completely closed. Breakfast shops and ovens are also closed on Liaquat Road. Along with the police, personnel armed with heavy shells of tear gas have also been deployed. Police have also been deployed at metro bus stations and the metro bus service has been completely stopped. Bicycle service is also not available.
The nearby areas of Faizabad were closed, the citizens were devastated
On the other hand, the nearby areas of Faizabad have been closed to prevent a possible PTI rally. Citizens will be devastated by the closure of metro bus service in Islamabad. The ongoing work on the metro bus service track has also been stopped and heavy personnel has been deployed near Faizabad.
Low attendance at government offices
Due to the closure of important places and roads of the city including Murree Road, Liaquat Bagh, Rawal Road by the district administration, the attendance in government offices is less than usual.
All entrances to Rawalpindi closed
Apart from this, the main entry routes into Rawalpindi city have been completely sealed. Entry to the city from Tarnool GT Road, Motorway, Rawat GT Road is completely closed. Similarly, the route from Murree Kotli Satian Kahota Taxila Kaler Syedan to Rawalpindi city has also been completely sealed. Meanwhile, a contingent of women police has also been deployed at Liaquat Bagh Chowk, Committee Chowk, Murir Chowk and other places.
Barriers everywhere, Rawalpindi has become a city of containers
Barricades have been erected by the district administration after the PTI rally was stopped and Section 144 was imposed in the city. Meanwhile, all petrol pumps on Murree Road have been closed. All roads to Sadar Gwalmandi are also closed. All roads and intersections in the city have been sealed with containers, making Rawalpindi look like a container city. All roads and ambulances from outside the city to hospitals have also been completely blocked.
All roads leading to Adiala Jail are closed
Rehmanabad Chowk, Shamsabad areas in Rawalpindi have also been sealed. All roads leading to Adiala Jail from the city are also completely sealed and all types of parking and standing in front of Adiala Jail are also prohibited. Transport to Adiala Jail Village has also been stopped. Citizens going to meet common accused in Adiala jail are also worried. Police Line, Sahala Police Training College and Rawat Constabulary have also been deployed on Murree Road.
