Islamabad: 32 accused arrested in the PTI protest were discharged from cases.
The 32 accused sent for identity parade in the Anti-Terrorism Court Islamabad were presented before Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain last night, where the court discharged 32 accused from cases.
During the hearing, Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain of the Anti-Terrorism Court remarked that if the police arrest them again, he will handcuff the policemen. The court expressed anger over the accused being produced from Jhelum Jail late at night.
The police showed the arrest of the accused in the cases of Police Station I-9 and Police Station Margalla. On this occasion, their lawyer Ansar Kayani appeared in the court late at night on behalf of the accused.
The police took the position that the accused were arrested on November 25, the identity parade could not be held. The police requested the court for a physical remand of 30 days, to which the lawyer objected, saying that the identity of the accused is not even paraded and the police is seeking remand for recovery. The police picked up the workers from their homes to complete the numbers and put them in the protest case.
Later, the court released the handcuffs of 32 accused in the courtroom and discharged them from the case.
