Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz has said that protection of lives and property of minorities is being ensured by declaring it a red line.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said in a message on the Hindu community festival Holi that this beautiful festival of colors, Holi, is a symbol of love, peace and brotherhood. Pakistan is a beautiful blend of communities of different religions. Everyone has equal rights and opportunities – I pray that this day brings a message of happiness, love and interfaith harmony to everyone.
Maryam Nawaz further said that Punjab is a land of Sufis, love and tolerance. Every religion, every community is fully respected here. We are making a Punjab where every citizen feels safe, empowered and an equal Pakistani. The Punjab government is taking practical steps for the protection and welfare of minorities. Education, health, employment and other basic facilities are being provided equally to the members of the minority community.
He said that the handholding of the poor minority brothers and sisters is being done through the Minority Card. Grants have been increased for the religious festivals of the minorities. The budget of the institution has also been increased. The Punjab government is also making arrangements to celebrate the religious and cultural festivals of the minorities at the official level.
