PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has sent the matter to the center for their registration while profiling the non-custom paid and non-duty paid vehicles in the former Pata and Fata.
After the implementation of the scheme, in future no NCP and NDP vehicles will ply in any section.
In the light of the decision of the Apex Committee, Excise and Taxation Department and Police have profiled 2 lakh 11 thousand non-custom paid and non-duty paid vehicles in Malakand Division and former tribal districts and recommended to regularize them.
The provincial government’s proposals said that registered bargain dealers should be allowed to register vehicles with an additional duty of 10 per cent. Vehicle owners will be allowed to sell vehicles for 5 years. The status of filers and non-filers should also be reviewed.
The provincial government has suggested that 1 lakh for filer on 800 cc vehicle, 1 lakh 50 thousand for non-filer, 2 lakh for filer on 801 to 1000 cc vehicle, 3 lakh for non-filer, 2 lakh 50 thousand for 1001 to 1300 cc vehicle. Non-filer 3.5 Lakh, Filer 5 Lakh 50 thousand for 2500 cc vehicle since 2001, Non-filer 8 Lakh, Filer 7 Lakh for vehicle above 2500 cc, Non-filer 10 Lakh, Proposed registration fee for 800 cc vehicle 15 thousand, 20 thousand for 1000 cc, 30 thousand for 1300 cc, 1 lakh for 2500 cc, the proposed registration fee for above cc vehicles should be kept at 2 lakh.
Provincial Minister Excise and Taxation Khaleequr Rehman confirmed sending proposals to the Center and supported these proposals, saying that this issue will be solved once and for all and there will be no NCP or NDP vehicles anywhere in the future.
