ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister met Maulana Fazlur Rehman late at night, in which Shahbaz Sharif tried to convince him about the constitutional amendment.
According to sources, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif met Maulana Fazlur Rehman last night after meeting with the legal team, in which he once again invited the JUI chief to join the government.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman was also taken into confidence regarding the constitutional amendment by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Sources say that Maulana Fazlur Rahman has demanded to bring a draft of the constitutional amendment, to which the Prime Minister has indicated that he will respond after consulting the party.
It should be noted that a few days ago Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema Islam, has rejected the government’s claim of supporting the constitutional amendment and said that no opposition, including JUI, will support the law that is against the constitution and democracy.
